For patients who have already started treatment, TFC should adopt MOH’s additional recommended processes beyond those already issued with the AR directives. This includes processing only one AR related specimen (sperm, oocyte or embryo) at any one time.

Docosahexaenoic acid or DHS is an omega-3 fatty  acid that is found in everywhere in our bodies, but higher concentration in our brain, eyes and heart. While folic acid are well known to be important during pregnancy, studies shows that DHA is also an important nutrient for pregnant and nursing women. Babies cannot efficiently develop their own DHA but rely on mothers for this nutrient during pregnancy and after birth.

Dr. William Sears, a leading expert of child health development from DHADOC.com says that “DHA is the most important brain-building nutrient at all ages, especially during pregnancy and the pre-school years when the child’s brain is growing the fastest”.

  1. Adequate amount of DHA is needed for development of the brain, eye and nervous system of infants. DHA represents 93% of all omega fats in the retina and is needed for the formation of photoreceptor cells (cells in the eye that recognize light and transmit information about it to the brain).

DHA also plays a role in postpartum depression and helps a mother’s emotional well being after birth.
